Torrence Hatch Jr. was born on November 14, 1982, in Southside Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His father’s name was Raymond Torrence Hatch Sr. He was a drug addict and struggles with addiction until he died in 1997.
Boosie’s mother, Jacquelyn Hatch was a school principal whose father was a pastor. He has seven siblings. His parents nicknamed him Boosie and he was later called Lil Boosie.
He was a good basketball player, and his mother wished that his good sportsmanship would help him get into a good college.
After the death of his father, Boosie changed his hobby from basketball to focusing on music. He, therefore, decided to become a rapper.

When Lil Boosie switched from basketball to rap, his cousin Young Bleed first introduced him to rapper C-Loc.
Boosie was mentored by C-Loc and was able to join the Concentration Camp group in 1996 at the age of 14, being the youngest member of the group then.
Boosie Badazz group members included Youg Bleed, C-Loc, Happy Perez, Boo, Max Minnelli, J-Von, Lee Tyme, and Lucky Knuckles.
Hatch first appeared in 2000 in C-Loc’s fifth album known as “It’s A Gamble.” He appeared under his old alias Boosie and Concentration Camp’s third studio album Camp III: Thug Brothas in 2000.
