Nigerian Navy recruitment requirements 2021/2022

  1. Here are the qualifications listed on the Nigerian Navy recruitment portal:
  2. All applicants should be between 18 – 22 or 18 and 26 Years for those with ND, NCE, Nurses, and Motor Transport Department (MTD) respectively.
  3. This position is also open for an applicant who is either an O Level or HND holder.
  4. Your primary school leaving certificate is required.
  5. All applicants must be physically and mentally sound.
  6. Applicants must be Nigerian citizens.
  7. All Male applicants must not be shorter than 1.68 meters for the required height. 
  8. And female applicants must not stand at a height below 1.65 meters.
  9. Applicants must submit correct and original documents for the NN recruitment.
  10. Any aspiring applicants must be free from any conviction by a court of law or any criminal charges.
  11. Pregnant women and those with natural disabilities must not apply.

How To Apply For The Nigerian Navy Recruitment 2021/2022 Online

  1. Log onto the official Nigerian Navy recruitment portal (
  2. Click on Register to start the application process.
  3. Make sure you carefully read the Nigerian Navy terms and conditions before proceeding.
  4. Create your account by providing a valid email address and account password. (NB: Make sure you provide the correct email address and write your pen down your password in a safe place.)
  5. You will receive a confirmation email. Check your email inbox and confirm your email address for the registration.
  6. This will take you to the Nigerian Navy recruitment form again.
  7. You would be asked to provide all your details including scanned copies of your documents.

The Structure Of The Nigerian Navy

The Nigerian Navy has two strong branches. The Headquater and the Divisional Commands.

1.The Nigerian Navy Headquarter

The Nigerian Navy headquarters is the organ saddled with the duty of making policies and bringing out the administrative function of the Naval force. The head of the Headquarters is the Chief of the Naval Staff.

The chief of naval staff has seven other branches attached to the headquarter which includes:

  • Policy and Planning
  • Administration
  • Operation and training

  • Standard and Safety
  • Naval Engineering
  • Account and Budget.

2. Divisional Commands

a. The Western Naval Command: Supervises the coastal and sea region from the Nigerian/ Benin border. 

It covers the Nigerian coastal areas to EEZ nation’s boundary. The headquarter of this Western Naval Command is at Apapa, Lagos State.

b. The Eastern Naval Command: This is the second divisional command of the Nigerian Navy. The Eastern divisional headquarter is at the Cross River State capital, Calabar. 

This division covers from Delta to Nigeria/Cameroon border. And also from the coastline of Nigeria to the nation’s EEZ limit.

c. The Central Naval Command: The Central Naval Command is the third divisional command of the Nigerian Navy. 

This divisional command controls the Benin River entrance, Bayelsa, Edo, and Delta coastal area. It also defends the Nigerian landward state. This division has its headquarter at Bayelsa state, Yanagoa.
